Join us for Nikon School Day Out at the Singapore Zoo!
Our instructors will show you simple tricks, Pro tips, and hands-on techniques to snap wildlife photos that truly stand out. From the basics to advanced skills, you will learn how to freeze the actions and bring animal moments to life!
And here's the best part: We are bringing along our latest gear and telephoto lenses! That means you can get up close to the animals.
Walk in curious, walk out with incredible shots you will be proud to share!
What to expect during the Day Out?
- Say No to Auto! Introduction to shooting in Creative Modes
- The triangle of exposure in Nature/Wildlife Photography: Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO
- Applied Exposure: Understanding how to select the right aperture and white balance to bring out the true beauty of nature and wildlife
- Composition and Aesthetics: Learning how to observe and compose the intricate shapes, textures, and forms in Nature to create aesthetically pleasing photos
- Action Techniques: Anticipating the shot and effectively capturing the action of animals/birds the moment it happens
- How to use your focus modes to capture action shots of wildlife successfully
- Hands-on shooting session with guidance - Simple critiques will be provided to help you master the techniques
Ideal for anyone:
- who owns a Mirrorless/DSLR camera or a camera with an interchangeable lens
- with or without a telephoto lens. Any kit lens is fine, too!
- looking to learn to capture animals with the ideal camera settings
- with basic knowledge of exposure (aperture/shutter speed/ISO) and camera controls
- who would like to try out some of the latest Nikon equipment, be it a Nikon Mirrorless or a NIKKOR lens, or BOTH

Important:
- You may request to borrow a camera body from us during the outing. The memory card for the camera will NOT be provided. Please bring your memory card according to the model above. Limited sets are available.
- There is NO RESERVATION for the lens. We will loan it out on the event day on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The entrance ticket is included in the outing fee package regardless of whether you possess an annual pass.
- Entrance tickets will be given to the participants before we enter the Singapore Zoo.
- The outing will end by 11:30 am. However, you can continue exploring Singapore Zoo after returning any loaned equipment.
- The registration will start 15 minutes before the session commences. Please be punctual.
- Under unexpected circumstances (e.g., official COVID-19 advisory, unhealthy haze conditions, thunderstorms, etc.), Nikon Singapore reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event.
- Only the registered participant is allowed to attend this session.
- No replacement session will be given for non-attendance or cancellation requests.
